Lipton ice tea: let’s recycle

Wednesday 18 March was for the third time in a row Global recycling day. Maybe this is not something you wanna think of in these times. But recycling is important. So I thought I would write the important things in an article with of course some tips on what you can do to help! Because we need to convince everybody that waste can have value, at least if you recycle it correctly. And Lipton ice tea toke a big step in the right way.

rPet

Lipton is the first big soda brand that only is using recycled plastic (rPet) to make new bottles. So they reuse the plastic and for the production of rPet bottles, there is 40% less CO2 emissions needed. I love that a big brand like Lipton does things like this!

How can you help?

  • Choose packings that are 100% recycled and are recyclable
  • Always press your bottle flat in the length
  • Drink or pour your bottles completely empty after using
  • Put the cap always back on the bottle before throwing it away
  • Don’t throw that packings away when there is no pmd bag nearby

Lipton ice tea already toke a step in the right direction to make their bottles rPet. The label, cap, and their multi-pack packings are not (yet) recyclable, this asked for a complex process. But they are already looking to make those also recyclable. If you ask me then is lipton ice tea doing an amazing job, and I’m happy that they are taking these steps! Keep up the good work!

I find recycling very important, so I am going to keep these tips in mind! I hope you too! It’s not much work but it makes so much difference! 🙂
